About Jimmy Derks
Jimmy Derks is an author, consultant, trainer and licensed realtor with a strong background in the new home and real estate industry. He has held prominent positions in recent years such as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Scott Felder Homes, a Ryland Company.
An interest in the building industry was acquired at the age of ten while working in his father's construction company. At the age of 22 Jimmy formed his own building company and has remained in the building industry for the past 40 years.
As an investor and builder, Jimmy has over 28 years serving as the general contractor and developer, supervising all commercial and residential construction sites. He was selected in 1995 by the Texas Association of Builders as one of three finalists for the Texas Star Award's "Best Sales Manager of the Year" out of 250 entries from 20 cities. Jimmy has maintained a 90 percent retention rate of on-site sales agents over a four-year period. In 1996 his team achieved over $90 million in sales. For 14 consecutive months he and his team lead the Southwest Region of Ryland Homes in profitability, number of units sold and dollar volume.
His family consists of six children, three grandchildren and his wife Marian, a prominent Realtor in the Austin area. Jimmy's personal and company mission statement is "We will provide you tools to stir up your passion to create 'Great Things' in your personal and professional life."
